International Human Microbiome Consortium

Scientists from around the world, meeting October 16, 2008, in Heidelberg, Germany, announced the formation of the International Human Microbiome Consortium (IHMC), an effort to allow scientists to characterize the relationship of the human microbiome in the maintenance of health and disease. Man is the collective genomes of all organisms living in or metagenomics on the human body. The IHMC will generate a shared data resource from international projects that are madethe scientific community worldwide. research institutions from all nations supporting similar research efforts are invited to be participants.
